About

Emily Ricks-Tyree is a passionate graphic designer based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with nearly a decade of industry experience. Her  journey began at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she honed her creative skills and thinking. Since then, she has remained deeply rooted in the vibrant community, contributing design expertise to a diverse range of clients, both locally and internationally.  

Emily is currently employed at Whiteboard, a Chattanooga-based creative agency who strives to serve emerging and established visionary leaders, who Whiteboard believes makes the world a brighter place. Emily also runs a small design studio with her husband, who she met in Design School. Together the duo are "Wee Studio".

Beyond professional endeavors, Emily is also dedicated to empowering the next generation of designers. She has had the privilege of teaching graphic design at the university level, accumulating nearly 100 hours of teaching experience, as well as engaging in annual University portfolio reviews. Sharing knowledge and passion with aspiring designers keeps Emily inspired. 

In every project, Emily strives to approach creativity with strategy, ensuring that each design is not only visually engaging, but also serves its purpose effectively.

  • Emily's home and studio space are one and the same, dissolving a boundary of creativity between life and work. 

    She advocates for environmental conservation and the benefits of integrating nature into daily life — often recharging outdoors. Emily appreciates the journey as much as the summit. And always hikes with a PB&J, but never eats the crust. 

    Emily earned her B.F.A. in graphic design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she developed a love for analog printing and the quirky, inquisitive nature of the contemporary print world.
